Yamaha U1 upright piano in Gloss Black
Another rare find…….A Japanese Yamaha U1 upright piano in Gloss black made after the year 2000. They rarely come up for sale this young and she has the new style modern case with the soft close lid and later design. A new price of £11,000 means a saving of over £6500.
She has a few blemishes around her but still very very presentable and we have priced her accordingly. We have a near new Yamaha U1 for sale of a similar age priced at £4995 if you are looking for as new.
We collected her from her first owner which was a Church where she was only really used on a Sunday and one mid week choir practice and they have changed to an electric piano due to the ease of wiring into the PA system. She has easy move castors fitted for obvious reasons but we can fit brass castors back on at no extra cost.
The most popular upright piano of the last 50 years, It plays like a Yamaha U1 should with a bright sound and strong even bass. It has a light / medium action and has been tuned to concert pitch and regulated. It comes fully checked by our technician to ensure years of enjoyment. It has a middle practice pedal too for some midnight practice. There isn't much to say about a Yamaha U1. Great all round pianos. Come and play her at our showroom to see why they are so popular.

Unlike many sellers we are honest and open in our descriptions so as well as listing all the great things about the piano we also like to point out any stand out marks or details so you know exactly what to expect when your piano arrives. Please bear in mind that most gloss finish pianos will have very fine micro scratches in the polyester / polish from dusting and this is pretty much unavoidable. We have NEVER seen a piano without micro scratches.
She is in good condition with a few blemishes to point out due to her location within a church. The very back edge has a few marks along the length but because upright pianos go up against a wall they are not overly noticeable. There is a small 2” rub mark on the bottom right side of the case work, again which can only be seen on direct light. There are a couple of very small polyester touch ups on the cheek edges and some of the ‘brass’ film on the soft close hinge’s is starting to peel. We know this might sound a lot but it really isn’t and is what most people would call ‘great condition for age’ but we are honest in our descriptions. We have photographed these marks and even pointed them out. She is priced extremely competitively for such a young piano. We prefer to undersell than oversell. Too many times have we turned up to view a 'immaculate' piano to find that it has cup stains and broken hinges etc where people's general response is "what do you expect for 20 years old". We hate this, and I'm sure you do too so you can be sure if we say a piano is as new, it is. If we say it has some marks around, it does. And if we say it is not suitable for a grade 8 pianist, chances are it isn't.
RETURN & REFUND POLICY
If you are unhappy with, or change your mind about your purchase within the first 30 days you are welcome to return it, at your cost, for a full refund as long as it arrives back at Rowlandson pianos in the same condition as it left. Pianos are a big piece of furniture and are neither cheap or easy to move around and we suggest that we can, at your cost, collect the item or you are welcome to make your own arrangements to return it but we do advice a specialist transport company and can usually recommend someone local to yourselves.
DELIVERY INFO
Delivery is charged at £1 per mile using google maps from our base at WF10 3QZ. We do this so you can quickly and easily work out the delivery charges. We transport our own pianos but we do work with other respectable piano moving companies who cover other areas and if they can deliver the piano to you cheaper than ourselves we will happily use their services and pass on the savings to yourselves. Collection is also welcome and we are happy to help with loading if needed but we do advise the use of a specialist piano moving company
