Yamaha P121 / U1 upright piano - Satin Walnut
Rare British made P121N Yamaha upright piano in satin walnut. (Don’t confuse this piano with the All new P121 models which are now made in Indonesia). There is no fade on this piano which is really rare on a piano of this finish.
She really is a beautiful piano and looks even better in person than the photos. We were really impressed with her when she came into stock. She is basically a Yamaha U1 but with a satin wooden cabinet and built in the Kemble factory in London. Action, strings, harp etc are all Yamaha U1. The bass is strong and the treble is well balanced with the mid section. She has a medium to light touch and the gradient between loud and quiet playing is excellent. Honestly you cannot go wrong with this piano which would suit all abilities of pianist from beginner to professional. Compared to the gloss black pianos she really stands out and is a lovely warm colour.
An equivalent Yamaha U1 of this age and in this condition would be £4500 so an absolute bargain.

Unlike many sellers we are honest and open in our descriptions so as well as listing all the great things about the piano we also like to point out any stand out marks or details so you know exactly what to expect when your piano arrives. Please bear in mind that most gloss finish pianos will have very fine micro scratches in the polyester / polish from dusting and this is pretty much unavoidable. We have NEVER seen a piano without micro scratches.
This P121N is in very good condition. We have carried out a couple of smart repairs on the case to get her to as new standard as possible. There is one on the front right cheek and one on the left cheek. There is a small 3mm mark on the very top lid front. There is a small touch up on the bottom left leg. We have smart repaired three of these and they are now not overly noticeable. We have added photos of these and you can see how indistinguishable these are. We are overly critical of our pianos so you can rest assured she will be as described. How many other sellers would do that? Most would say she was as new !

Too many times have we turned up to view a 'immaculate' piano to find that it has cup stains and broken hinges etc where people's general response is "what do you expect for 20 years old". We hate this, and I'm sure you do too so you can be sure if we say a piano is as new, it is. If we say it has some marks around, it does. And if we say it is not suitable for a grade 8 pianist, chances are it isn't.
One of our pet hates is people or companies selling 'refurbished' pianos. Granted some of these may be part refurbished to a good standard, but with over 9000 parts in an upright piano, how many have really been 'refurbished' and not just had the odd felt or sticking key sorted. If you put a new tyre on a car you would describe the car as refurbished would you? Therefore, you will not see any 'refurbished' pianos for sale at Rowlandson pianos, just good quality serviced pianos.
RETURN & REFUND POLICY
If you are unhappy with, or change your mind about your purchase within the first 30 days you are welcome to return it, at your cost, for a full refund as long as it arrives back at Rowlandson pianos in the same condition as it left. Pianos are a big piece of furniture and are neither cheap or easy to move around and we suggest that we can, at your cost, collect the item or you are welcome to make your own arrangements to return it but we do advice a specialist transport company and can usually recommend someone local to yourselves.
DELIVERY INFO
Delivery is charged at £1 per mile using google maps from our base at WF10 3QZ. We do this so you can quickly and easily work out the delivery charges. We transport our own pianos but we do work with other respectable piano moving companies who cover other areas and if they can deliver the piano to you cheaper than ourselves we will happily use their services and pass on the savings to yourselves. Collection is also welcome and we are happy to help with loading if needed but we do advise the use of a specialist piano moving company
