Steinmayer S118 gloss black upright piano

Steinmayer S118 gloss black upright piano

Lovely modern Steinmayer S118 piano in gloss black.   A fantastic mid range piano made by Steinmayer.  In very good condition.  She has a medium action and a good even overall sound.   Don't confuse her with the more common Steinmayer S110 pianos that might look similar on pictures.  This is is 118 version with larger cabinet and longer string length for a much more premium and rounded sound.

We would be happy to recommend this piano for any beginner to intermediate pianist.  Her previous owner achieved Grade 8 on her so it shows you what she is capable of and would look fantastic in any environment.   She might not be as technically polished as a Yamaha U1 or Kawai K2/3 but She would suit 95% of all pianists and is substantially cheaper. She fills the void between a starter piano and a professional upright such as a Yamaha U3 or Kawai K5.

She has a middle practice pedal for midnight piano practice 😃.

Unlike many sellers we are honest and open in our descriptions so as well as listing all the great things about the piano we also like to point out any stand out marks or details so you know exactly what to expect when your piano arrives.  Please bear in mind that most gloss finish pianos will have very fine micro scratches in the polyester / polish from dusting and this is pretty much unavoidable. We have NEVER seen a piano without micro scratches.

This piano is in very good condition.  There are just 2 tiny imperfections worth mentioning.  One is a small touch up about 3mm on the front right cheek.(photographed).  There are a couple of very very small marks on the keyboard lid.  They are so small you can't even see them in 95% of lighting but we pride ourselves on our honesty.  Please read our reviews for how well we prepare and are over critical of our pianos.  We have never had anyone say a piano isnt as described and most people wonder why we mention marks that 99% of people can't even see but that's just how we are.  Check the pictures, they do not lie!

  • WHY BUY FROM ROWLANDSON PIANOS

Here at Rowlandson pianos we pride ourselves on supplying good quality modern pianos and want the customer to be truly satisfied.  In an ever changing world we have adapted by making more information on the pianos accessible online, so you can see lots of photos and a video of the piano being played.  We actively seek to give an unbiased description of each piano we have for sale including any negative points.  Too many times have we turned up to view an 'immaculate' piano to find that it has cup stains and broken hinges etc where people's general response is "what do you expect for 20 years old".  We hate this, and I'm sure you do too so you can be sure if we say a piano is as new, it is.  If we say it has some marks around, it does.  And if we say it is not suitable for a grade 8 pianist, chances are it isn't.

One of our pet hates is people or companies selling 'refurbished' pianos.  Granted some of these may be part refurbished to a good standard, but with over 9000 parts in an upright piano, how many have really been 'refurbished' and not just had the odd felt or sticking key sorted.   If you put a new tyre on a car you wouldn't say the car had been refurbished would you?   Therefore, you will not see any 'refurbished' pianos for sale at Rowlandson pianos, just good quality serviced pianos.

  • RETURN & REFUND POLICY

If you are unhappy with, or change your mind about your purchase within the first 30 days you are welcome to return it, at your cost, for a full refund as long as it arrives back at Rowlandson pianos in the same condition as it left.  Pianos are a big piece of furniture and are neither cheap or easy to move around and we suggest that we can, at your cost, collect the item or you are welcome to make your own arrangements to return it but we do advice a specialist transport company and can usually recommend someone local to yourselves.

  • DELIVERY INFO

Delivery is charged at £1 per mile using google maps from our base at WF10 3QZ.  We do this so you can quickly and easily work out the delivery charges.  We transport our own pianos but we do work with other respectable piano moving companies who cover other areas and if they can deliver the piano to you cheaper than ourselves we will happily use their services and pass on the savings to yourselves.  Collection is also welcome and we are happy to help with loading if needed but we do advise the use of a specialist piano moving company
