Nieer 121 upright piano - Gloss black

Nieer 121 upright piano - Gloss black

Nieer 121 upright piano in Gloss black.

Sometimes we come across a piano that we just find a little bit different and this Nieer is no exception.   She has the height of a Yamaha U1 but has a compact style case.  Built by the Pearl River Piano company, probably in the late 1990's, she would make a fantastic starter piano.  She isn't the best built, she doesn't have the best action, but for the price she sounds absolutely brilliant.  She has a mellow but powerful tone and really is a joy to listen to. She wouldn't be suitable for a professional pianist but if you are  starting your musical journey she would love to join your family.  We think she sounds better than most of our £2000 pianos, but she just isn't as polished on the action and the cabinet has some marks detailed below.  She has a medium action and is tuned to A440 concert pitch.  We can play advanced pieces on her fine but we always think it's best to give people an honest review on who she would suit best.  The key bushings are quite worn so the key spacings aren't great but we wanted to keep the piano affordable.  We can replace the key bushings at a cost of £350 if required.

Unlike many sellers we are honest and open in our descriptions so as well as listing all the great things about the piano we also like to point out any stand out marks or details so you know exactly what to expect when your piano arrives. Please bear in mind that most gloss finish pianos will have very fine micro scratches in the polyester / polish from dusting and this is pretty much unavoidable. We have NEVER seen a piano without micro scratches.

Unfortunately she does have numerous marks around her.  We have photographed the more stand out marks but please don't expect a mint piano.  The main marks are the top left front corner and the back edge which goes to the wall.   The front of both keyboard cheeks have touch ups and minor chips.  Around the piano are various other imperfections.  She isn't our usual stock but she sounded great so we made an exception for her.  In very good condition we would be advertising her at £1750 so a great saving and she still does look presentable.  Please check out the pictures which hopefully give you a good representation.

  • WHY BUY FROM ROWLANDSON PIANOS

Here at Rowlandson pianos we pride ourselves on supplying good quality modern pianos and want the customer to be truly satisfied.  In an ever changing world we have adapted by making more information on the pianos accessible online, so you can see lots of photos and a video of the piano being played.  We actively seek to give an unbiased description of each piano we have for sale including any negative points.  Too many times have we turned up to view an 'immaculate' piano to find that it has cup stains and broken hinges etc where people's general response is "what do you expect for 20 years old".  We hate this, and I'm sure you do too so you can be sure if we say a piano is as new, it is.  If we say it has some marks around, it does.  And if we say it is not suitable for a grade 8 pianist, chances are it isn't.

One of our pet hates is people or companies selling 'refurbished' pianos.  Granted some of these may well be 'part' refurbished to a good standard, but with over 9000 parts in an upright piano, how many have really been 'refurbished' and not just had the odd felt or sticking key sorted.  You wouldn't put a new tyre on a car and then sell the car as 'refurbished' would you?  Therefore, you will not see any 'refurbished' pianos for sale at Rowlandson pianos, just good quality serviced pianos.

  • RETURN & REFUND POLICY

If you are unhappy with, or change your mind about your purchase within the first 30 days you are welcome to return it, at your cost, for a full refund as long as it arrives back at Rowlandson pianos in the same condition as it left.  Pianos are a big piece of furniture and are neither cheap or easy to move around and we suggest that we can, at your cost, collect the item or you are welcome to make your own arrangements to return it but we do advice a specialist transport company and can usually recommend someone local to yourselves.

  • DELIVERY INFO

Delivery is charged at £1 per mile using google maps from our base at WF10 3QZ.  We do this so you can quickly and easily work out the delivery charges.  We transport our own pianos but we do work with other respectable piano moving companies who cover other areas and if they can deliver the piano to you cheaper than ourselves we will happily use their services and pass on the savings to yourselves.  Collection is also welcome and we are happy to help with loading if needed but we do advise the use of a specialist piano moving company
