Kawai KS1 Japanese made gloss black upright piano
Lovely Kawai KS1 piano in gloss black. A good Japanese made piano from a quality manufacturer. In average/good condition but still very presentable. She has a medium action. She has some front cabinet detailing which is nice to see over more common plain fronts.
The KS1 is 124cm tall so is slightly taller than the equivalent Yamaha U1 and Kawai K300 models. She has had some use over the years with some play in the key bushings and would benefit from a good set up but still plays better than most other pianos under £2000. Normally we would sell a piano like this for £3750 so we have priced accordingly so please manage your expectations of a £1500 Japanese Kawai. Have a listen to the video, she still sounds really good.
For us we would rather someone get a bargain piano rather than invest lots of money into the casework and then full refurbishments to end up with a £4000.
She has a middle practice pedal for midnight piano practice 😃.

Unlike many sellers we are honest and open in our descriptions so as well as listing all the great things about the piano we also like to point out any stand out marks or details so you know exactly what to expect when your piano arrives. Please bear in mind that most gloss finish pianos will have very fine micro scratches in the polyester / polish from dusting and this is pretty much unavoidable. We have NEVER seen a piano without micro scratches.
This piano is in average / good condition. There are a few small blemishes on the front edge of the piano that cannot be picked up with a camera and you probably wouldn’t know they were there if we didn’t tell you. There is a 2” touch up on the right side cheek and a 3” scratch on the very top left of the lid. We have photographed both of these in the gallery. There is some micro crazing on the polyester around the piano that you can only see in very strong light and at a certain angle. Honestly, please read our reviews for how well we prepare and are over critical of our pianos. We have never had anyone say a piano isnt as described and most people wonder why we mention marks that 99% of people can't even see but that's just how we are. Check the pictures, they do not lie!
You are more than welcome to come and view and play the piano at our showroom.
A brand new adjustable piano stool is included

WHY BUY FROM ROWLANDSON PIANOS
Here at Rowlandson pianos we pride ourselves on supplying good quality modern pianos and want the customer to be truly satisfied. In an ever changing world we have adapted by making more information on the pianos accessible online, so you can see lots of photos and a video of the piano being played. We actively seek to give an unbiased description of each piano we have for sale including any negative points. Too many times have we turned up to view an 'immaculate' piano to find that it has cup stains and broken hinges etc where people's general response is "what do you expect for 20 years old". We hate this, and I'm sure you do too so you can be sure if we say a piano is as new, it is. If we say it has some marks around, it does. And if we say it is not suitable for a grade 8 pianist, chances are it isn't.
One of our pet hates is people or companies selling 'refurbished' pianos. Granted some of these may be part refurbished to a good standard, but with over 9000 parts in an upright piano, how many have really been 'refurbished' and not just had the odd felt or sticking key sorted. If you put a new tyre on a car you wouldn't say the car had been refurbished would you? Therefore, you will not see any 'refurbished' pianos for sale at Rowlandson pianos, just good quality serviced pianos.
RETURN & REFUND POLICY
If you are unhappy with, or change your mind about your purchase within the first 30 days you are welcome to return it, at your cost, for a full refund as long as it arrives back at Rowlandson pianos in the same condition as it left. Pianos are a big piece of furniture and are neither cheap or easy to move around and we suggest that we can, at your cost, collect the item or you are welcome to make your own arrangements to return it but we do advice a specialist transport company and can usually recommend someone local to yourselves.
