What a beast of a piano !!!!!!!! Japanese Kawai BL-61 in gloss black. Classic Kawai quality and plays superb. Middle practice pedal for quieter midnight practice. The action feels fantastic with only minimal wear in the key bushings , this piano would suit anyone from beginner to professional.
You really do need to play and hear these giant Kawai 61 pianos. They have a lovely medium bright tone in the mid and treble range but a strong powerful bass which really shows a lot of smaller pianos up in sound quality. This is Kawai’s alternative to the Yamaha U3 and we promise you it is just as good. It’s slightly mellower than a U3 and was Kawai’s flagship upright piano when new. A few cosmetic blemishes which we will list below but still looks imposing and stunning but at a price £1000 less than usual!!!!!!!

Unlike many sellers we are honest and open in our descriptions so as well as listing all the great things about the piano we also like to point out any stand out marks or details so you know exactly what to expect when your piano arrives.Please bear in mind that most gloss finish pianos will have very fine micro scratches in the polyester / polish from dusting and this is pretty much unavoidable. We have NEVER seen a piano without micro scratches.
This piano is in good condition throughout. It has had numerous smart repairs around the case which look presentable but she isn’t in mint condition externally. We have buffed her for over 15 hours to revive the caseworks gloss and the brass work and you can see she looks fantastic. The main marks of note that you see are a couple of fills on the top panel and also the front edge of the keyboard lid has had a few smart repairs (previous owner tried to roll her on her casters through a doorway and caught the front). There is a 2” section on the right side panel that we have carried out a smart repair to. We have attached lots of photos which capture the marks as best as possible but it is not very noticble and we doubt you would have found it looking around the piano from 2 feet away. Normal retail would be £4500 for a mint example so a huge saving on what is still a gorgeous piano.

Too many times have we turned up to view an 'immaculate' piano to find that it has cup stains and broken hinges etc where people's general response is "what do you expect for 20 years old". We hate this, and I'm sure you do too so you can be sure if we say a piano is as new, it is. If we say it has some marks around, it does. And if we say it is not suitable for a grade 8 pianist, chances are it isn't.
One of our pet hates is people or companies selling 'refurbished' pianos. Granted some of these may well be 'part' refurbished to a good standard, but with over 9000 parts in an upright piano, how many have really been 'refurbished' and not just had the odd felt or sticking key sorted. You wouldn't put a new tyre on a car and then sell the car as 'refurbished' would you? Therefore, you will not see any 'refurbished' pianos for sale at Rowlandson pianos, just good quality serviced pianos.
RETURN & REFUND POLICY
If you are unhappy with, or change your mind about your purchase within the first 30 days you are welcome to return it, at your cost, for a full refund as long as it arrives back at Rowlandson pianos in the same condition as it left. Pianos are a big piece of furniture and are neither cheap or easy to move around and we suggest that we can, at your cost, collect the item or you are welcome to make your own arrangements to return it but we do advice a specialist transport company and can usually recommend someone local to yourselves.
DELIVERY INFO
Delivery is charged at £1 per mile using google maps from our base at WF10 3QZ. We do this so you can quickly and easily work out the delivery charges. We transport our own pianos but we do work with other respectable piano moving companies who cover other areas and if they can deliver the piano to you cheaper than ourselves we will happily use their services and pass on the savings to yourselves. Collection is also welcome and we are happy to help with loading if needed but we do advise the use of a specialist piano moving company
